The office won the competition to develop the master plan for the new secondary school. The site, with its fantastic location next to the river Lågen as one boundary and the listed Kongsberg cinema and city center on the other, combines the challenge of how to consider both nature and the urban setting. The school has a welcoming entrance as one approaches from the city, and the plaza and public spaces invites you in. This integrates the school with the urban life. Towards the river the school benefits from large glazed areas and the main volume is pushed out towards the river to create exiting spaces underneath and to give views up and down the river.
