The project was won in an open competition. Spikkestad Secondary School is situated along the Spikkestad road and has wonderful views to the undulating countryside. The school benefits from these views by letting the building stretch along the site. All main facilities like library, theater stage and healthcare center are placed in connection with the central amphitheater,  which is designed as both a recreation area for the pupils as well as sitting area during stage performances. The staff offices are on the ground floor which allows for good views for supervision to the playgrounds. 21 classrooms and supportive smaller meeting hubs are placed on first floor. The main ventilation shaft allowed the school to get its own bell tower with school clock.
